Hail can bruise, dent, puncture, or crack roofing, compromising its ability to keep water out of a home. As a result, leaks can occur and cause extensive water damage. The effects are not always immediately evident.
Missing Shingles can cause home leaks. Perhaps even more so than an outright visible leakage. Water slowly slips in between the now vulnerable spaces with the constant dampness causing damage to insulation and floorboards before eating its way to the heart of the house's foundation.
Damaged roof vents are standard and can cause many problems to your home. The consequences of neglecting damaged vents can be severe, from increased energy bills to severe structural damage. That’s why it’s essential to understand the issues caused by damaged vents and take the necessary steps to prevent them.
Water damage may cause damage to your home and create costly problems. Water damage can also cause mold. Indoor mold is particularly destructive and can cause several health issues, from sneezing to severe allergic reactions in immunocompromised individuals.

In my previous profession, I worked for the Village of Oak Park and served as a Manager in the Development Customer Services Department which oversees building permits, inspections, code enforcement, business licensing, parking, planning, historic preservation, zoning, housing, and federal grant administration.
I became a Public Adjuster after my home was clearly hit by a hailstorm. I provided photos and videos of the hail hitting my home, yet my insurance company took over a year to agree to restore the damages on my home. After I completed the work, it took the insurance company an additional year to properly pay out the claim. Had I not been on top of this matter, it would have resulted in contractor liens, mortgage term defaults, and many other unnecessary costs.
I used my work experience to learn about laws, ordinances, and codes that could assist my claim process during those two years. I was finally able to complete my project and properly restore my home. I thought to myself “no one should have to deal with that type of experience.” Today I am fortunate that I can use the experiences I learned during that time, to help families avoid such complications and aggravation with their home claims. Since becoming a Public Adjuster, I have learned that insurance companies are not evil, however, they do speak a specific language and the information, details, photos, and reports for the claim need to be submitted in their language. This is my area of expertise.
“My goal is to work with insurance companies and bring
our clients homes to pre-storm conditions, or better.”
